During the Summer of 2023-2024, I took part in my first pre-professional musical at Soundworks Productions of “FAME”. Initially, I submitted an audition tape, then I received a call back for an in person audition. This two month experience was a highly professional setting and supported young performers significantly.
I met and worked alongside an inspiring creative team and cast, whom I learnt a great deal from. Such as, how to hold myself in a professional working environment, the process of putting together a show in a tight schedule and understanding the work each individual role undertakes for a musical.
I had a part in the ensemble, and throughout my role, I learnt a range of choreography and music during intensive rehearsals. By the end of January of 2024, we performed 8 shows at Caulfield Grammar to several sold out audiences.
This experience as a whole is one I am truly grateful for as I learnt so much about the industry and what to expect.
